  • Dans ce premier prototype de ma version de la reliure à tige, j'ai choisi d'utiliser la tige comme un élément décoratif, en la laissant partiellement visible. Je travaille actuellement sur l'adaptation d'autres éléments, comme les tranchefiles et les pages de gardes. À suivre donc ! Ce type de reliure daterait des années 1920, dans les ateliers de reliure industrielle Brodart et Taupin. Pierre-Lucien Martin a participé à la mise au point de ce « procédé Jotau », de couverture en bakélite moulée et articulée par des charnières de type piano. Ensuite de nombreux relieurs se sont appropriés ce principe de charnières, comme Edgard Claes, Renaud Vernier, Alain Taral, Benjamin Elbel... . . In this first prototype of my version of the rod binding, I chose to use the rod as a decorative element, leaving it partially visible. I am currently working on adapting other elements, such as endbands and flyleaves. To be continued! This type of binding dates back to the 1920s, in the Brodart and Taupin industrial binding studio. Pierre-Lucien Martin participated in the development of this "Jotau process", a bakelite cover molded and articulated by hinges of the piano type.
